Nora Daniel is a realist, classically trained, who takes subjects from her surroundings and then composes from her individual perspective. Her style is coloristic and painterly. She has garnered countless awards and fellowships, exhibited in many galleries and museums all over the world and is highly collected and prized.

Whether capturing landscapes, portraits or still lifes, Daniel brings our attention to the emotional essence embodied in each canvas. She conveys this with compassion, humor and pathos. Her work is without affectation, imbued with passion and fluidity. Her imagination enlivens simple scenes, creating internal narratives and raising questions and curiosity about seemingly simple objects.

Daniel was born and raised in New York City and moved to Ohio in 2005 to share her life with popular Appalachian painter and sculptor Paul Emory. They have one daughter.
