While working on this portrait of our two pups cuddling (spooning) and the light shapes that appeared as spoons, my kind hearted mother happened to offer me a postcard of an old bed which she innocently offered as a useful reference for a painting. Well, I promptly destroyed any of her illusions that I would deign to work from a photograph, since it was so beneath me. Shortly thereafter I was forced to eat my hat(crow?) when it became an inevitable prop/tool in the betterment and completion of the work.
